I'm a Lab Technician for a gold mine, basically we determine the content of the ore they mine. I also run two part time business's, Armageddon Designs which specialise in Automotive Graphic art and Photography, then there is Armageddon Action Sports which I'm in the process of building up. It will be a one stop shop for all Action sport needs, long term plan is to build something behind the shop front very similar to Camp Woodward, Ray's Indoor etc, will be the first of it's kind in Australia.

You were a ticketed welder and switched to become a bike shop mechanic?
Or you were just working as a welder?
I love bikes and riding as much as the next guy but I couldn't imagine a $15/hr pay cut. I'd rather make more $$ so I could spend more on riding and the expenses that follow it.
Ah just noticed the date..... Question still stands

I am a journeyman welder but wanted a break for a little while so took a job at the shop for about 4 months, basically summer vacation and something that I have always wanted to do but never had the opportunity. I have now been back in the oilfield since late summer last year, and when things slow down here in the spring I might very well go back to the bike shop for another little summer vacation job for a short time.

Money isn't everything! Sometimes its nice to be able to ride your bike to work and have a stress free environment all day, a good change of pace from the trades.
