The Klipspringer MTB trails are in the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy near Gansbaai in the Overberg District of the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
Klipspringer MTB consist of 4 routes which traverses the properties of the conservancy members. The trailhead for all of the routes is at the Lomond Wine Estate’s Restaurant and Tasting room, which serves as Trail Centre, and is situated about 20 minutes outside of Gansbaai.
There are trails ranging from easy and relatively flat rides to our famous, or some may say infamous, black route, the Klipspringer, which is not for the faint hearted and definitely not for the unfit. On all these rides, you will ride through, alongside, or over pristine fynbos, climb beautiful mountains, experience unimaginable views and breathe clean crisp ocean air, sometimes described as champagne air. The vistas at the top of the climbs are reward in themselves and in places offer 360 degrees of sea, farm dams, forest and fynbos valley views.
Make sure to join us at the funky fynbos festival in September.
Day permits can be purchased at the Lomond Wine Estate Trailhead or you can purchase an annual membership at the link below. Trails are open from sunrise until sunset. If riding prior to the opening of the tasting room, there is an honesty box located at the trailhead.
Fees:
Day – R50
Annual – R400
100% of permit fees benefit the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservation.
