1988 Redline RL-20II

This bike comes with some history. In 1991 when I was working at Seattle Bike Supply, I found this frame and fork sitting in a closet. It was a pro rider's bike that had cracked a weld at the head tube and been repaired. Later I discovered that "pro rider" was none other than Pete Augustin! So I bought the frame, along with the rest of the parts that SBS supplied to complete it.

I rode it for a couple of years, but then freestyle died and life changed. It's been sitting ever since. And now it's time to move on...

• Tioga Beartrap Headset with rotor bracket

• Dia-Compe Tech 77 lever with stopper
• Rear coaster brake (I was riding street)
• Skyway Tuff Wheel II's
• Primo The Wall tires, replaced in 2000 (I originally had Tioga Comp Pool's, but they disintegrated)
• Redline seat post
• Peregrine seat post clamp
• Redline saddle (really old school, found it NOS)
• M Jive Handles
• Beartrap pedals (shin bleeders)

This bike has been well loved and taken care of. It's been ridden hard, but the chrome still shines. The weld repair has been solid. The left fork peg was bunged when I got it, so I just learned to do right pegged tricks. I liked to do curb grinds, which you can see on lower chainstays, mostly on the left side. Other than that, it's clean and solid. One of the raddest bikes you'll ever find!
