I actaually laughed out loud Mike when you said, "the old oil could look like gray sludge which means it was time to replace it along time ago." Smile Maybe you are not trying to be humorous but I find that line is for some reason.

I have a standard 2011 Fox 32 125RL that came stock on my Giant Trance X2, now have to replace the seals as the right side of the fork seems to be leaking oil. When I am reassembling the lowers, does it matter if the oil is poured in from the top or the bottom? When I looked at the Fox service website, it shows that the suspension oil for the Left side (air spring side) is poured in from the bottom, where as the oil for right side (damper side) is poured in from the top.

Any help / comments ?

I just changed the oil in my 2009 Fox 40 RC2. I put 50ml in each leg but I did not soak the sponge rings after cleaning with non corrosive cleaner. Also when I put my high and low speed compression back on the smaller knob slides into the bigger one, not sure if that is meant to happen. Just wondering if I did everything right because it seems a bit stiff compared to before! I would love some advice! Thanks!

If anyone can please help, I have a 2012 float 32 rl open bath, and I'm wondering, do I add the oil through the top or bottom, and on which sides. If anyone would please help me out, I'll be very happy. Cheers

EVERY 25 HRS?
flag NorthEasternDH (Mar 1, 2011 at 5:42)
of riding time!, not sitting time... it takes a while to get 25 hours.... if your at a bike park... 10 min ride up, 3 minutes ride down. you get 20 runs in thats one hour of riding time.
flag dusty-bones (May 7, 2012 at 17:57)
but at jumps or skate park it adds up so quick
flag NorthEasternDH (May 9, 2012 at 3:47)
but its not getting as dirty, its still getting used but the main reason you change your oil in a fork is because over time dirt gets into the bath oil and you need to change it, at a skate park that happens much slower even though you may be riding it more.
