Spawn Cycles got some of their team riders and Jackson Goldstone together in Squamish to get some testing time in on prototypes for the upcoming Spawn Cycles Kotori.

The Kotori is the Swiss Army knife of Spawn's line up. With burly frames built out of hydroformed aluminum tubing, the Kotori is designed to take the abuse of dirt jumping. The complete bikes are set up as singlespeeds, but the rear cog and spacers can be removed making way for a cassette on the stock hub and the sliding rear dropouts can be swapped out to run a rear derailleur. The Kotori will also feature Chromag's new Vanguard junior specific handlebar as well as a Chromag Overture seat. The Kotori is available in 20" and 24" complete builds and in 20", 24" and 26" frame only options.

The Kotori is available now for pre-order at www.spawncycles.com and should be shipping to customers in late July.

 Man, Jackson Goldstone has been jumping from company to company lately. Lil Shredder to Canfield to Norco to Spawn. Some company should lock him down to a sponsorship, not sure if Spawn has a deal with him or not now. Props to Lil Shredder for kind of getting the ball rolling for high end kids bikes to start being produced. Good to see more options for the kids coming out. Hopefully prices come down and quality goes up for all kids bikes.

 Yea he may eventually end up on Specialized and be forced to ride their Mini-Works Demo with 340 stays and 24.5 wheels, which in turn will ruin his career. Then Specialized will be guilty of child abuse on top of all other devilish practices.

 I would not call it jumping around, I would call it not being sponsored and having the freedom to ride the best kid's bikes out there. There are not many options in the kid's market. It is great to see Spawn coming out with a quality product and supporting riders in their community.

 I like the trend of speculating on what's best for riders, why should someone ride on something intead of what he/she is riding now, as we all know, they deserve better. So I think we should speculate on what's best for the kid. If we are to tell Spec what chainstay should Gwin run, or Curtis Keen which bike to use on EWS, then why not tell his dad how to raise his kid to be the MTBr who we may eventualy btch on in the future. What if he is too serious like Gee? Let's make a social media project and collectively raise another Rat!

 Home-Team, I thought his move to a Canfield was about freedom of choice and riding what is the best bike available. But then the subsequent move to the Norco and then to Spawn seemed pretty obvious to be a step down in the quality of the bike and possibly driven more by sponsorship or some other motivation. Same with Brett Tippie's daughter going from a badass fully custom Lil Shredder Prodigy to a mediocre Norco, sponsorship conflicts most likely. Maybe he actually likes this Spawn dirt jumper better than the Lil Shredder Icon, but it just doesn't seem to be as nice of a bike. I think it has a lot more to do with Lil Shredder having sponsored him in the past and that he can't really keep riding their product if that sponsorship fell through as he would then basically be giving them free advertisement without getting compensated. I could be wrong on all of this, but from everything I've seen this is what makes the most sense. The Goldstone family seems awesome and Jackson is rad, but they definitely aren't dumb about marketing their "product" and there is a thought through reason to any product you seem him using.

 I might get neg propped for this but "Spawn Cycles got some of their team riders and Jackson Goldstone together in Squamish" why do you highlight his name out not the rest of the team? if they're a team they should be called "their team riders together in Squamish" or list each name individually so it comes across equally, not all about Goldstone no matter how good he is! but there's Pinkbike.. they sponsor him.

 Just maybe its exactly what they wrote, some of their teams riders and Jackson who isn't. Pretty basic and straight forward English. Jackson is a pretty bad ass little rider, so if you are looking for input on a kids proto, wouldn't you want his opinion as well as your teams.

 comments like this always seem to cause trouble. i couldn't care less if Jackson Goldstone had had more opportunities than any other rider in the whole of world, HES F'IN RAD. and not just for his age! all these kids are rad!

 A big hold back for parents is the cost and how quickly the kids out grow their bikes. One option, is taking a 13" frame like the Kona Stinky 24, stringing 20" rims onto the factory hubs (nobody makes a 20" wheel on 20mm thru axle). It does require drill and tapping new locations for the pedals in order to shorten the cranks or pedal kick every bump on the trail (limits pedal power uphill), and you need a short cage derailleur. Now this all still sounds expensive, and you're right, but it does mean that when the kid out grows the 20" wheels you can upsize those components for much less than a replacement bike. I've done one of these builds for my son late last season at age 7, building off a used frame (total cost $1300). He's currently riding high intermediate level trails and into the black diamond downhill trails. (think Krank it Up for flow trail and Duffman for rooty stuff in Whistler for reference). Which is a massive improvement in only a handful of rides. Do I think he's exceptional? Of course I do I'm his dad, but reality is kids that start on run bikes at age 2 are pretty skilled at age 6 and the same reasons that high end components work for us adults applies to the kids. Better brakes + accurate shifting + floating suspension = better riding and confidence.

 I watched the unreal trailer just before watching this. This video needs to be renamed to unreal to accurately represent what these kids are doing. These kids RIP!!!!!! Well done!

 That's impressive, I remember we used to ride shitty bikes, and do shitty jumps as young Canadians. There was what looked to be a 6 year old practicing tail whips last time I was at the skate park, he would probably like one of those bikes.

 man I don't care what anyone says that is some cool ass shit right there! Good for those guys and for the proud parents who put the time in to teach them and spend the time in the woods training, and building the courses together. I hope to do something similar with my kid some day when she is old enough. Not to mention that kids a better rider then I am lol

 Those kids are amazing! I tried, man I tried to buy a Spawn bike (one already in production) for my kid but geez what a challenge. ..just could not get a response as to when bikes would be available, if I pre-order how long will the wait be etc. Ended up going another route. I'm guessing Spawn is slammed with orders or something but I just figured that if I was having such an issue with their not responding to me trying to throw $ at them a potential issue with a warranty would be a nightmare.

 I pre-ordered a Banshee for my son and it took a month to come in,but it was the best decision ever,he loves the bike and hearing"Daddy can we go for a bike ride"is music to my ears.Thanks Spawn for making great kids bikes.

 There was one point in my life where i felt good about the quality of my riding. Then I saw this, and i started crying hysterically while I fondled my bike for comfort and reassurance, that maybe one day i can do 1/4 of what Jackson can do.

 Bout friggin time. It's good to see capable bikes to help the kids progress faster. Are they more expensive then some sure. But they look well kitted and great for the in between ages. I salute you guys. Good job.
