Cold Creek intro shot
The Oregon Enduro series hit its midpoint last weekend when it visited the rough and tumble trails of Cold Creek, WA. Situated less than 20 miles from downtown Portland, Cold Creek offers riders a true downhill challenge. Stage #1 is a new addition this year featuring the high alpine-like Silver Star and Chinook trails but it also added an 8 mile transition up to stage #2. Stages #2 (Cold Creek) and #3 (Thrillium) are also used for a downhill race series and they are filled with roots, rocks, berms, jumps, bridges and a few climbs favouring riders with technical skills to match their stamina....

Nice touch with the Champagne, Kurt!

Whats slaven wearing? do I spy a bell super full face?
  • 2 0
Was wondering that too. He's got a normal Super in the shot on the shuttle, then what looks like the same helmet but with a chin guard in the shot on the bike. Hope it's not just a lightweight snap-on chin guard for the Super. Those type of systems have been pretty worthless in past implementations...

Saw that picture and immediately came down here to look for comments about it.

I wonder if he had something custom built to modify it into a full face, much like Drew-O said. If so I would be very interested in how he got it, and if Bell will be releasing it. I say that because my dad recently took a bad tumble that left his face and cheek pretty cut up (I had to dig several centimeter long pieces of bark out of his cheek) and he currently wears the Super. We are planning on getting him a full face like the Met Parachute, or maybe the Urge Enduro that would be lighter weight but hopefully prevent such an occurrence again. To have something that could fit on his current helmet would be choice though.

its a snap-on. from what I've heard it works great, much more burly than other attempts at that system

I also came to the comments to look for this. I currently own a Super, and would for sure buy a chin bar snap-on system for the occasional shuttle that I do. Much as I would love a Full-9, I can't justify it for the little amount of shuttle/park riding I do.

I have to give major props to the Oregon Enduro Series. It was everything I had hoped it would be.
Tough, tech timed stages and a long transfer on an amazing piece of perfect PacNorthwest single track. There was some hike-a-bike but some sections on the transfer were a blast.
What was also not mentioned was the the trail back to base camp from stage 1 on the practice day was absolutely epic.
They did a really good job of finding great terrain to ride and the overall vibe was fantastic. Who can say no to free beer and mtb girls handing out wildflowers at the awards ceremony Smile

Kim was the only pro woman to race- she probably took it easy, all she had to do was not eat shit to win some cash....playing it smart!
