@stacykohut: There used to be a politician in Australia called Richard Face. Around election time they'd be big signs about saying VOTE 1 RICHARD FACE.

 Ever heard of Mike Hawk?

For real though, when I was in the military many years ago, we had a Sgt Dickover. And he lived up to his name. True Story.

most over-hyped rider ever. Yet to deliver. Hopefully this weekend he can manage something
  • 17 1
@simooo: you mean aside from the win he had in 2006 and taking the silver medal at the 2013 World's? I would agree that he's been inconsistent and never dominated the circuit, but to say he's the "most over-hyped rider ever" and has "yet to deliver" is rather pathetic on your part.
  • 7 0
@simooo : He won a World Cup in Vigo in 2006.
  • 8 11
 @dingus: a decade ago!
  • 4 1
@simooo: He delivered a decade ago. I can think of riders who have way more 'hype' than Mick who haven't achieved as much as he has.
  • 6 0
...and that top speed! 55.237! I verified this with Capt. Kirk and he said that's about warp factor 2 right there.
  • 6 0
no possible result would make me happier than sick mik winning this race
  • 1 1
He had a run of his recent lifetime ! ...too bad it is just qualies....
  • 2 0
@simooo: Sik Mick is not the most overrated guy for sure. This title has to go to THE MOST STLYISH, THE MOST FLUENT, THE MOST WATCHABLE, THE MOST......"whippy" racer....:sorry - freeracer - Brendan F.

I may be biased being an Aussie... but I so want Troy to win. He works so hard, is an all round good bloke and has been close so many times since his maiden Fort William WC win... bring it home boy!! Big Grin

faaarrrrrk mick just layed down a scorcher... don't know who I want to win more!
  • 18 1
@brownies: To be honest after that run from Mick i really want him to get a win. Then Troy. Smile
  • 11 0
@brownies: I'd love to see Mick podium. He's such a legend, and Troy has a decade to win more before he's Mick's age.
  • 4 1
@oriion: Good point, Troy does have many years left in him yet. Also stoked to see Muddy in 12th and Button in 15th, great showing from the Aussies overall.

Just walked off the hill and am having a beer at the tent below. Weather is clear and perfect. Track was mildly damp in the forest and dusty in the open. The fast sections are mental and the atmosphere is great. Weather prediction is similar tomorrow. Should be fnnn fast. Watching Warner and Claudio pretend they are professionals.
  • 3 0

@Korpse: Over the bash in the last part of the rock garden. He took it easy as it's auto quality with only 26 riders in junior.
  • 3 0
@MattStaggs: Thank you! Glad he was able to make it all the way down without injury.
  • 4 0
@Korpse: I wouldn't say without injury. Just spoke to him and he wasn't too confident in being "all good".

 YEAH MIC. SICK!
  • 10 0
Looks like we have quite the battle shaping up! I'm a diehard Gwin fan but I'm stoked to see some guys nipping at Gwin's heals. Is it still wet on track? Wet or dry could have a big impact on Gwin, plus Troy's familiarity with the track and Bruni's brute speed... plus Steve Smith back on form. So good! Should be interesting!
  • 2 1
Dammit, after Lourdes I added Amaury Pierron to my Fantasy League. DNS though :-/
  • 1 2
How do you know Troy is familiar with the track?
  • 6 0
@jclnv: he did an edit sponsored by the city of Cairns on this track a couple of months ago. He is very familiar with the track.
  • 2 0
@kerberos: he busted his wrist at the rock garden....trade time..
  • 2 1
@kerberos: he broke his wrist during the practice... Bummer after esuch a good start, hopefully we'll see him again soon !
  • 1 0
The track is a little muddy and greasy up top but dry and fast for most of it
  • 12 1
a little part of me is waiting for a result like, 'ok, in the the elite men we have 1st and 2nd, Timothy Eaton, Harry Bush....'
  • 2 1
 Haha. I wish
  • 10 0
Manon! It's hard not to like the entire women's field but I think a win for Manon against a healthy Atherton would boost the confidence!
  • 13 2
What's up with Hill this season? I mean I know the field is stacked right now but I'm kinda hoping for him to be up there.
  • 3 2
This track doesn't suit his style, too flat and fast, but yeah, he's a bit off, still the top ten are Farking quick, he's 30 now so I can't see him winning another race, he might podium but Gwin, Bruni and Brosnan are just too fast.
  • 3 0
He's also coming back from re-occurring injuries. I hate to think that he's starting to lose his ability to put together podiums and wins, but I think it may be true...
  • 2 0
yeah that astonishing 2007 and 08 season seems a long time ago now. I know he's shown glimpses of it since though
  • 3 1
I think Sam has one more run left in him to seal his legendary status. His focus is on one track this year, Val di Sole.
  • 1 0
Sam begins to be outdated ... he cant go as fast as before (it s a fact) which is normal when you get ""old"" in the sport ...
  • 1 0
He won 2 rounds in 2014. It might take some time before he gets up to speed after all his injuries. It's funny that all his supposed heir apparents have barely won anything.
  • 3 3
The CRC / PayPal (haha wtfff) plays a role maybe too ... it does not look really cool to be in there.. riding and wearing the ugliest stuff available on the market

  • 1 0
But Fairclough way down on 81, hope he's fine.

Another great quali from Greg Williamson. Protected top 20. Moving from trek to cube has been a fantastic move for you buddy. And you have a great mechanic is Jesse. Kenta qualifying well too. We might live in a small, low populated, remote part of Scotland and the FC might be about to rip out loads of our tracks... but look what standard comes from around here. Let's hope the locals call fill loads of podiums as the SDA this weekend, like last time and the BDS also.
  • 3 1
Come on Manon, beat Atherton by a second. For the men, Bruni to beat Brosnan, and Gwin for third.
Please don't rain.
Anyone know which part of the track they adjusted? Looks like they took removed a jump people were hitting too quick?
  • 3 0
Guys on course said they put an extra turn in before the whoops to stop them coming in so fast. Three massive offs yesterday. Paramedics there for a couple of hours
  • 1 0

 Great ride from Sick Mic!!!!!!
  • 4 0
I hope RB TV will show MORE than only the 20 best riders ..... !!!!!! lets show the top 40 !!!!!!!!
  • 2 0
Didn't they used to show top 30? That was way better
  • 1 0
only 20 riders showed for Lourdes ....
  • 1 0
indeed a few years ago they showed the top 30
  • 1 0
@JoseBravo: at very least they should show top 20 + protected riders who qualified outside of top 20. Alas I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears. But it would save missing runs like Gwin's winner at Lourdes last year.

 GOOOOO BRANNIGAN! BRAAAAAP!!!!!

  • 3 0
 @swassskier: What does that mean?
  • 7 0
What happened to the whole syndicate? Minnar and Ratty down way low and no Peat
  • 5 0
@krisrayner: Rat had a bobble in the last split apparently otherwise he was heading for top5. Minnaar still searching for his form aswell as Hill...
  • 1 0
@krisrayner: Looked like The Rat was on pretty good pace at Splits 1 & 2, but then way back at Split 3. Probably a crash. Not sure what happened to Minaar
  • 3 0
I was going to ask the same thing...he's not even on the start-list. Hope he's OK!
