i went to school with kent hehr.
his father's name was richard hehr, so yeah, dick hehr .
dick hehr was the father to kent hehr.
awesome.
again true story, we had a realtor in our neighborhood who used to rent out the back of bus stop benches for advertising.....
her name, anita dyck.
so rad.
Literally in high school I had a friend who's dad's name was Harry Tush. Moreover, he was Harry Tush III. There were three generations of Harry Tush's. (Luckily for my friend it ended there.
@stacykohut: There used to be a politician in Australia called Richard Face. Around election time they'd be big signs about saying VOTE 1 RICHARD FACE.
My last name is hooker, fun times. My dad has a shirt that says "support your local hookers" with a bunch of fishing lures. Teachers weren't too happy about me wearing that one.
There was a news reporter here in the UK call Chris Peacock, not sure if he had personal hygiene issues or not.
I also had a teacher called Richard Stiff. I don't know if he shortened it but he was definitely a Dick in my eyes!
I was down voted sooooo many times! I did not know that there are so much people without sense of humor here at pinkbike.... I guess not all of bikers are "laid out".
@simooo: you mean aside from the win he had in 2006 and taking the silver medal at the 2013 World's? I would agree that he's been inconsistent and never dominated the circuit, but to say he's the "most over-hyped rider ever" and has "yet to deliver" is rather pathetic on your part.
@simooo: Sik Mick is not the most overrated guy for sure. This title has to go to THE MOST STLYISH, THE MOST FLUENT, THE MOST WATCHABLE, THE MOST......"whippy" racer....:sorry - freeracer - Brendan F.
I may be biased being an Aussie... but I so want Troy to win. He works so hard, is an all round good bloke and has been close so many times since his maiden Fort William WC win... bring it home boy!!
@oriion: Good point, Troy does have many years left in him yet. Also stoked to see Muddy in 12th and Button in 15th, great showing from the Aussies overall.
Troy seems like a great guy, wish him all the best. All of these riders seem down to earth in their own way. Just regular dudes and gals who love riding bikes and are so good at it that they can make a living doing so.
Just walked off the hill and am having a beer at the tent below. Weather is clear and perfect. Track was mildly damp in the forest and dusty in the open. The fast sections are mental and the atmosphere is great. Weather prediction is similar tomorrow. Should be fnnn fast. Watching Warner and Claudio pretend they are professionals.
Looks like we have quite the battle shaping up! I'm a diehard Gwin fan but I'm stoked to see some guys nipping at Gwin's heals. Is it still wet on track? Wet or dry could have a big impact on Gwin, plus Troy's familiarity with the track and Bruni's brute speed... plus Steve Smith back on form. So good! Should be interesting!
This track doesn't suit his style, too flat and fast, but yeah, he's a bit off, still the top ten are Farking quick, he's 30 now so I can't see him winning another race, he might podium but Gwin, Bruni and Brosnan are just too fast.
He's also coming back from re-occurring injuries. I hate to think that he's starting to lose his ability to put together podiums and wins, but I think it may be true...
He won 2 rounds in 2014. It might take some time before he gets up to speed after all his injuries.
It's funny that all his supposed heir apparents have barely won anything.
The CRC / PayPal (haha wtfff) plays a role maybe too ... it does not look really cool to be in there.. riding and wearing the ugliest stuff available on the market
Come on Mic! You can do it!! I have been a huge fan ever since yelling SICK MIC at him in a race at Sol Vista and he responded with the sickest(fitting) whip I have ever seen!
doesn't work at my end, says SORRY: NO LIVE EVENT IS TAKING PLACE. THANK YOU TO WAIT FOR THE START OF THE EVENT OR RETURN TO WWW.TISSOTTIMING.COM any idea ?
Another great quali from Greg Williamson. Protected top 20. Moving from trek to cube has been a fantastic move for you buddy. And you have a great mechanic is Jesse.
Kenta qualifying well too.
We might live in a small, low populated, remote part of Scotland and the FC might be about to rip out loads of our tracks... but look what standard comes from around here. Let's hope the locals call fill loads of podiums as the SDA this weekend, like last time and the BDS also.
Come on Manon, beat Atherton by a second. For the men, Bruni to beat Brosnan, and Gwin for third. Please don't rain. Anyone know which part of the track they adjusted? Looks like they took removed a jump people were hitting too quick?
Guys on course said they put an extra turn in before the whoops to stop them coming in so fast. Three massive offs yesterday. Paramedics there for a couple of hours
@JoseBravo: at very least they should show top 20 + protected riders who qualified outside of top 20. Alas I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears. But it would save missing runs like Gwin's winner at Lourdes last year.
@krisrayner: Looked like The Rat was on pretty good pace at Splits 1 & 2, but then way back at Split 3. Probably a crash. Not sure what happened to Minaar
I just don't think he's had enough time on the DH bike, all his photos of him training in Perth he's on the NP Mega, his fitness is good, he's healthy, watch him come at them at the end of the season when he's been on the big bike more.
For real though, when I was in the military many years ago, we had a Sgt Dickover. And he lived up to his name. True Story.
