North West trail riding is nothing short of epic. The Jungle holds some of the biggest jumps in the region. And no, don't ask where they are. Chained up by night and only the select few who have put their hard time in have the keys. The trail bosses have put some hard hours into the jumps and the quality shows. It's summer and time to BBQ and hang at the trails!
Dylan Bibbins is one of the most committed builders at the trails, digging 24-7 the man puts his time in.

Dirt n' Blood. These jumps show no remorse for those who ride them. Cole Cooke compound fractured his colar bone and was taken away in an ambulance. We wish the best to his recovery and will hopefully be riding trails soon enough.

Awesome! It was refreshing to watch a brand new dirt jump edit. Those "trails" are art. I can tell you guys put a ton of work into them and I can seriously appreciate the amount of earth moving that went down to build them! Have fun and best of luck to Cole!
Think of how sick George Lucas could have made the 'ROTJ' speeder bike scene, if he had watched this as inspiration. Oh and if he had a sick little flying video copter. Busting through branches on a bike is supremely awesome.
This has got me so inspired to go and try and build something like that... haha I won't be able to though!! I think the edit just sums up how much fun riding bikes is.
I bet 3.33 didn't go down to well with the builder!
that pic of the blood must be out by the street where cole fell.. wink wink dummies donno how to keep trails alive. lawyers and even the popo has access to all this too so yeahhh not that they'd look into it but in the event they ever do u know.
Yesss!!!
keep up the good work i love driving by these and seeing your cars, knowing that its going down just a few feet away haha!
Would love to photo and video for these guys. HMU
Hey, Look at us.. we built some really cool stuff, but you can't ride it and we're not gonna allow you to help or ever ride.. but look at us, look at us, LOOK AT US!!! How bout some video love for builders that build for everyone?
Slow your roll Negative Nancy. Lets start with your comment about "building for everyone". We are a crew that digs wherever the hell we please. We have done plenty of "public" digging. Quite possibly more than yourself. The Jungle, however, is our SEMI-private spot in which we showcase the absolute best of our art and have a hell of a good time riding it.
If you want to ride (or dig) there, here's what you do: -Make friends with us (we are actually pretty nice). Weird, huh? -Pull the dick out of youre ass. (its hard to make friends with a dick in your ass) -Make it evident you're interested. -Have the ability to NOT blab about having been there for "cool points".
Simple as that.
There are a number of people that ride there frequently that we have NEVER asked to pick up a shovel (because they're friends and we like them). The chains are not to keep you or anyone else out, they're in place to protect our hard work (its easier to understand once you've actually worked that hard for something).
I'm sorry you were unable to enjoy something that we so tenatively decided to share with the world.
I should've guessed the response would've been prebuscent.. I think your trails are cool, and respect the hard work it took to build them, and shape them. But there are enough "private" riding areas around... and I don't think there is enough articles, videos, or pictures on pinkbike showing the work of builders that do it for the masses... In our area (all the way accross the country) it's the same.. a few out of a hundred are willing to pick up a rogue hoe or a shovel, or a fire rake to make new trail.. it's a thankless gig, other than the reward of riding what you built, and watching other people enjoy them. Which I guess is what building is all about..
What's prepubescent is your cynical perception of what we put our life into and judging us entirely based off preconceived jealous emotions.
Haters gonna hate. You always do.
no jealousy, I don't really care to ride there, I'm all the way across the country.. I could care less about your trails. Only point, is it'd be nice to see more exposure on pinkbike about VOLUNTEERS who build for everyone (most park builders are paid employees) and the struggles they have an get nothing in return in the form of pay other than watching others and themselves enjoy what they build, trail or DJ, or whatever... No hate here foo...
I could never understand what's the fun in having the best spot to ride in the city and not letting anyone else enjoy it, I love getting to know different places as well as sharing my fun with others. Anyway, beautiful dirts, they look amazing, so detailed and nicely incorporated in the forest, huge respect for the builders and thanks for this video!
Because if these where found they could be bulldozed, people would ruin them and not repair it, then these guys would have even more work maintaining, etc, etc... I would love to ride these and I am sure a ton of other DJ guys would, but it is what it is.
the whole chained trail thing rubs we the wrong way. illegal trails are illegal. there for the builders don't own them and don't really have the right to not let other people ride them. just my two cents. on the other hand sick edit.
Those trails are pristine, hundreds if not thousands of hours have been put in on those jumps. This isn't mutual hours of an entire community, these are a small group group of dedicated builders and riders. It's no fun putting time into a spot and having it be wrecked by groms casing the jumps. Worse, in the US especially, if a kid hurts himself riding, the parents can attempt to sue the builder for unsafe practices. Worse still is when you tell a friend about your jumps, they tell a friend, that friend tells all his friends, so on, until some parent or angry civilian tells local authorities or government, and your spot gets bulldozed.
So if you want to ride these trails, talk to the builders and let them know you can help out. Put in some build time before ride time. Don't just show up and expect to ride an amazing spot without working for it.
Do you think thousand of fat kids ride bikes and will come case these jumps in the middle of a forest! Anyway if you want to keep in secret why would you post a video about it.. It doesn't make lot of sense.
Sounds to me like you haven't spent endless hours working at your local spot only to see your hard work ruined by either amateur riders attempting trails beyond their ability or by people who are just jerks with nothing better to do, I can fully understand and appreciate the need for chains at these trails.
I used to be really into dirt jump building and riding but the whole reason i don't anymore is cuz to many people found out about each of my spots and they got bulldozed or downsized for fat little kids that can barley jump a curb. and after putting in thousands of hours to build and fix these spots to just be put in the same situation a 2 weeks later just isn't worth it. As far as I'm concerned they have every right to chain them off and keep people out, they built them they can choose who rides them and who finds out. NOBODY should tell about a location except the trail boss he is the one that should choose who comes and who knows. not friends of friends of friends and so on. Remember every one, it only takes one person complaining about a spot to get em torn down, and it only takes one angry parent that wants to sue you for all you got. Don't get me wrong I still love dirt jumping and would love to start doing it again but in so-cal it is really hard to hide stuff in scrub brush but don't worry when i find that spot you won't know about it unless i know you
These trails were in "Building the Underground" featuring huge names in BMX (they can flow) plus also in Profile Racing's DVD Mark Mulville annihilates them! More Combos than a tony hawks game!
Hate to burst your knowledge bubble, but you're 0 for 2. BTU came out years before this chunk of woods ever saw a dirt jump. And Mark Mullville has never done any "annihalating" here. Although he's more than welcome to do so. Youre probably thinking of Southwoods? Solame? GJ's? But no jungle in BTU.
these trails were deff NOT in btu because they even moar underground.. started em when i was 14 or 15 or somthin I'm now 25. yeah he's 0 for 2 but u still don't know it all smarty just trying to snip the rumors.. these were built by BMXers who will ride anything two wheeled. not mtbers lol how would they ever be so legit if actual gomer mtb ppl made em? oh and mr mullville may have ridden them.. not sure tho i just remember telling the props crew about them when they were in town at a local park. i didn't ride with em but told tony cardona about them at that park gave em permish etc..
i hate to be the negative but why are they on mountain bikes if theyre just going to sift out all the rocks and sweep the jumps to make them concrete pretty much. just ride a bmx
