If you like what you saw today, you can support the filmmakers by downloading Not2Bad on iTunes, Amazon, Vimeo on Demand (4K here), GooglePlay, and more. You can also buy official Not2Bad merch here.

What’s better than one of something? Two of something. One is less than two. Therefore, logic dictates that two must be better than one. Faced with these indisputable facts, we realized that we needed to make a sequel. No one takes you serious in the movie business unless you make at least two of something—more is always better right? And this is serious business. Serious off-road bicycle riding business. So get ready for a whole lot of more. More antics. More deep thoughts. More X-treme mountain cycling. And more slow-mo... especially more slow-mo. Yeah... that sounds Not2Bad.

STARRING: Brandon Semenuk, Brett Rheeder, Cam McCaul, Ryan Howard, Casey Brown, Andrew Shandro, Ruben Alcantara and Sergio Layos, with Rachel, Gee & Dan Atherton.

Not2Bad is Presented by Trek in association with Shimano, Bontrager, Sony & Clif Bar with Pinkbike & Bike Mag and support from Good Fortune Collective, Freefly Systems, Western Digital and Immersive Media.

  • 26 3
Bit of solo time for her eh, while you head out on your bike?!

Instead of somewhat average and chill?
  • 7 0
 so you have 2 tv's?

Awesome vid, Casey killing it,,, they need to make a monument of Ruben, true legend. Only a MTB vid would play clean version of full clip.

I know what I'm not doing (last night). I'm off pink bike for one stinking day and this happens. I TOTALLY MISSED IT.

Not2Complain, but this is interrupting my "pretend I'm working on things at work" time.

The gang all seemed to have a lot of fun, and good for them, but honestly MTB movies are starting to look and feel all the same to me now.

And credits taking up 1/5 of the movie? Not 2 Good, either.

Then again, viewing was free, so Not 2 Bad.

Roam and Seasons have never been matched.
  • 3 0
 @Grunk: True that!
  • 7 1
 Kranked 5 FTB
  • 17 1
The credits are so fun to watch though man
  • 9 2
@Grunk: Strength in Numbers needs to be added to that list
  • 27 4
@Grunk: Life Cyces should be on that list, and the original film from Seasons and Roam---The Collective
  • 12 10
UnReal, Revel In The Chaos, Rad Co.
  • 13 2
Did you not watch a slice of British pie?
  • 13 1
@Grunk: Follow Me was like the last full on MTB that anthill has done.
  • 3 0
There's builders in redbull. tv anyway.
  • 3 1
@aidanbrown559: revel in chaos was killer but I wasn't as down with unReal. Cant forget the costal crew movies like Arrival and From the inside out soo good
  • 3 1
@Grunk: Life Cycles and VAST are there too.
  • 6 1
Can't leave out Follow Me, that movie was rad!

Seasons definitely had the biggest impact unreal had incredible production but was disappointing other than that.
  • 1 0
@Grunk: Everything after follow me, has been a step backwards IMO
  • 1 2
@madmax245: I was unfortunate enough to be at the premier of ASOBP and it was just awful.. Shame as they had loads of talented riders but instead of shredding chose to film them falling off and sliding out in greasy corners. If I want to see that I'll just go riding with my mates on any given weekend in the winter.

Seasons was awesome, Folllow me, from the iside out, Revel, Rad Company, unreal.... all awsome
  • 2 0
@Garpur44: a slice of british pie was end to end shreading... I think you need to watch it again.
  • 2 0
@thenotoriousmic: I wouldn't put myself through that again
  • 2 0
@SeaJay: Wow, best post ever , thanks for this, i was too busy having kids and missed most of these.

The comment from the maker is fantastic -
"I'm so glad to see this is posted on Youtube! If you have any more of my videos from back in the day, please post them! I give you full permission to post any of my work! I don't even own copies of a lot of my own work. So, it would be a real treat for me (and everyone) to access those shows. Cheers!

The guy in the yellow top, is that Bender or Evil Dave ? He's the best rider at not being successful i've seen, must be Bender ? Jeeees if i'd watched half of these i might be a half decent rider lol
  • 1 0
 Bring back clay porter
  • 79 29
I was disappointed. Too much slopestyle. Not enough trail riding. There's a huge mismatch between MTB films and what the majority of riders are doing. We need more trail riding films featurin local rippers.
  • 52 7
I ride trails but watching other people ride trails sounds lame. I like watching the WC DH the best. It would be like a snowboard movie showing some guy riding pow in the trees. Sure that is what I like to do but I want to see the pros slay 60 degree spine walls.
  • 31 7
Agreed. This film was almost entirely about dirt jumps with Semenuk, Rheeder, and RDog. I don't suppose the Athertons got involved much beyond the 1 Segment. Should have been much more trail/dh riding. Enjoyed it, but tbh enjoyed the outtakes as much as the repetitive dirt jumping.
  • 20 1
IMO mtb movies should be more like ski movies - there's the typical shred film, with guys doing amped up versions of what normal dudes do, then park and backcoutnry films have their own niche. Slopestyle is equivalent to park in that sense. It's not quite mountain biking, it's somewhere in there between mtb and bmx. Awesome stuff but not always what I want to see in an mtb film.

I wish these major features would be more like the content we see coming from Dude of Hazard, Vanzacs, Remy Metailler, etc. Just riding trails and with the occasional mind blowing line/corner rip/gap. Some of the segments were on point in Not2Bad but I agree; too much slopestyle.
  • 6 3
@iantmcg: I'm not sure how that's excluding trail riding... WC dh is trail riding, and there's a lack of rippin dh riding in bike films. so many snow films have tons of footage of guys RIPPING in terrain you would enjoy; they are just going bigger, faster and taking the gnarliest line. I can't cork 7 on skis, but it really isn't exciting for me to watch a reel of guys just hitting booters and doing tricks I, frankly, don't care about.
  • 10 1
I have to say I enjoyed this, a lot of the slopestyle and DJs was more interesting than usual and it had a good vibe. But I def agree that I would like to see more trail and DH in films instead of the DJs, slopestyle and A-line.
  • 3 1
@trialsracer: Oh, I didn't realize DH was trail. I just like watching guys ride gnarly DH courses.
  • 3 1
I'm not crazy about the super technical slopestyle stuff, but I love to watch when they drop that and go for style and amplitude instead.
  • 6 3
Watching folks pedal hard on XC trails is entertaining for about 5 minutes, even as a bike lover.. .
  • 7 6
omg you guys its free !!! don't like it don't buy it simple as that! oh and there is plenty of other movies for you to watch... guess you just can't please everybody oh and btw it's the trek team soooo there is more slopestyle riders than anything else really
  • 7 1
Not Bad was almost entirely dirt jumps and slopestyle, I think this was more entertaining and a better mix of MTB but my favorite segment was the trail riding and wish there was a little more of it.
  • 3 10
flag sosickdude (Oct 20, 2016 at 20:03) (Below Threshold)
Then go watch a boring trail riding movie and stop complaining. the world doesn't revolve around what you want.
  • 1 0
The dirt jump / slope style parts were pretty good in this and I have very little interest in that k I nd of riding normally.
  • 1 0
@guigui333: "omg you guys its free !!! don't like it don't buy it simple as that!"

If it's free, you don't have to buy it anyway. It's as simple as that!

But only the trailer is free. If you want the full video, you have to pay. And on the basis of the trailer it's not worth it. It's as simple as that!

And Trek sux donkeys. It's as simple as that!
  • 35 2
We are in business. Hallelujah. Big thank you for the free movie screening to the good people at @anthill @trek @shimano @CLIF and #pinkbike and all the great riders that makes us wanna go out and ride. Highly appreciated.

waitwaitwait at 29:41 we got a scene where Brandon is actualy laughing?
  • 3 2
 Yeah it suprised me too!
  • 2 1
Was thinking the same throughout the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, I love Semenuk, but the guy's gotta loosen up a bit hahaha
  • 2 1
Yep I thought the same thing, I didn't think he could laugh.
  • 16 0
I suspect that they used stunt double for that shot... can't be Brandon

  • 10 1
Thanks for the free showing PB. Great job to all of the riders involved, definitely Not Bad Big Grin But I do wish they would have ventured off into the mountains of Malaga a bit more. Seems odd to not utilize so much natural beauty in exchange for massive dirt jumps. Props to the build crew for sure!
  • 16 7
PinkBike's polling tells me the main demographic is 18-24 ish year olds - after watching this I have mixed feelings for them - The film makers seem to be trying to catch the outrageousness of Thrasher road trip movies, or BMX road fools, or even Jackass of the 90's and early 2000's - but the food fights, and paint ball wars, and the bedroom pranks all feel so stale, not to mention that this film kinda runs like a 30 minute commercial for Trek one of the largest and most conservative bike companies in the USA - is this what mountain biking is becoming? It is clear Cam loves to entertain his fellow ridders but his energy is overshadowed with a overly shallow film - do we want to be another action sport clone?

Such a happy bunch of legendary shredders who had me laughing at everything.

I'm sure I'll get railed for this, but I am also glad I didn't pay for this. When it first came out I was heavily considering buying it, but now I'm glad that I didn't. The only bit I really enjoyed was the one that was previously shown free anyway.

Loved it! Every single segment. Thought the segment Casey Brown and Rachel Atherton was awesome - they are soooo fast. Great to see a little of Dan and Gee too. Casey Brown hitting the big jumps with the boys, everyone looking superstylish all the way through. Trek have got some pretty sick riders on board! It looks like it was pretty fun to make too! NIce one @pinkbikeaudience and @anthill (oh, and @trek!} for putting this on.
  • 1 0
What a great fun flick. Sure, lots of DJ and slopestyle but they were only in Spain for a short time. What they made work there was impressive. The feel reminded me of the fun old school snowboard flicks but with top notch cinematography and technical camera work.

My town hosted a venue for bmx racing world cup once; big jumps in the local park.
They ended up destroying them for safety reasons, too many people were getting wasted trying ti ride the course.

Guess they did the same here.

@polarproton: Wouldn't expect any different approach from the French Big Grin

The segment with Rachel Atherton is on a track called La Zubia near Granada.I rode it 7 years ago and it looks pretty similar to then. Great track, so many line choices.

Ah man! The season is over and this video comes out. Now I wanna ride so bad!
  • 1 3
Great way to spend 30minutes! A great group of riders and incredible filming techniques! Good music too. Well done. BUT...I can not understand why full face helmets were not worn on some of these trails/parks? Maybe there is a good reason for it? Are they THAT good there is no need for them? Proven medical data? All these riders are the best-of the best and to do what they do you have got to stay healthy.
  • 1 0
Was dan atherton riding the new remedy or the new slash in the scene with all the Athertons riding?
  • 1 0
the new Slash is only in red or completely blacked out, unless he had a custom painted one. So maybe a Remedy. I freeze framed. It has the rear shock mount of the remedy. So probably a custom painted Remedy. It also sounds like in the climbing part he had Di2 shifting.
  • 2 1

  • 7 9
It's fun reading all of the "too much slope style" "too many jumps" "it's just like every other anthill film" comments. Expand your horizons. Live outside of your single track, stupid tall sestpost, clipped in box. Honestly, would a 30 minute video of a guy climbing in a skin suit really be fun to watch?
  • 1 0
It not fun to see 30 flip whips in a row on the same old dirt jump that could have been built anywhere. That being said I did enjoy the dirt jumping in this film.
  • 2 0
You missed the point. People we're advocating for more aggressive trail riding like shown in a short segment of the film. You used that as an opportunity to bash XC riders and assert your own level of self appointed radness. Sorry our suggestion wasn't sick enough for ya brah.
