yeah they look sick. Does look a bit like they might have bought the rights to the Giro Hex and dabbled with it a bit though . . . then again maybe not, there are only so many ways you can make a helmet

It's probably going to run at least $90. Cheaper than some, but not cheap.

Will they be made for huge noggins? I doubt it. I can't seem to find a good-coverage 63cm+ helmet that actually goes around my head instead of perching up top.

the helmets look good and so do the DMR tires. but is it just me or is it rare like never happens to hit the back of your head when mountain biking. if anything give me some extra face or front of the head protection.

I'd buy a mutton chop helmet in a second. or instead of a helmet just a face shield that wraps around my head with a rubber band. trick or treat on the trail all year round.

@ taletotell... are you saying that you only buy cheap helmets or that you just want to see the design but not necessarily the construction trickle down to cheap helmets? I for one would rather pay a little extra when it comes to head protection. Not TLD prices as I believe that you can get the same protection from slightly cheaper helmets on the market.

There are sufficiently safe helmets that sell for $50. They are just ugly. It is the nature of capitalism that the pretty style eventually reach the cheap crap. Look at the Kia Forte.

I don't know anyone who doesn't like a matte finish. All of our matte colored bikes at my shop are almost always the first ones to sell out in the season.

I admittedly don't know all that much about tire development so this might be a dumb question but what exactly goes into the 'development' of a 650B tire? If you have the tread pattern developed isn't it a matter of just making a bigger tire? I'm sure there is a little more too it but whats the big hold up? is there that much difference between these tire sizes?

i ride on my local xc trails with my buddy on our SS DJs.. we smoke everyone, including going uphill. just depends on how you ride

I'm now officially confused. Hutch was showing their 27.5" tires at the show but are working on a 650B still? Aren't those sizes the same thing?

The terms are interchangeable. I think some folks just like to interchange them more than others. So yes, they released 27.5 tires in 2.2 and 2.4, and are still working on the 650b (or 27.5) DH tire.

i bought a $ 200 helmet on holiday last year came back home couldn't wait to get out on the trails
the helmet was everything i was looking for light weight strong good looking great fitting it even had
the mesh inside so no bugs could get in buzzing about . i was ot on may favorite trail at GLENTRESS
heading down the deliverance trail feeling good then front wheel washout BANG head first into the ground
and hit a rock right on the corner of the the helmet it took the full force of the blow then my face slides
along the trail which was little loose rocks my glasses saved my eye but they got ripped from my face and
took a bit skin off my nose . so i lay there for a while .F##K F##K F##KING HELL WTF happend there .
i get up and inspect the new helmet the corner is cracked not to bad but your not supposed to use them
after a crash LAS was the make i think yes it done its job so it got put in the trash . i got a new helmet BONTRAGER
from alpine bikes £ 25 . i had the same type of crash on the weekend the same blow on the same part of the
helmet its only got a small scratch no cracks nothing . i wont be wasting money like that again .

I may be wrong but I understood helmets, especially lighter weight XC types to be 'sacrificial protection' i.e. they protect you by breaking and therefore absorbing the energy transferred during the crash into and the helmet rather than your head. Conversly, a helmet which doesn't break under the same forces experienced which broke the other offers less protection therefore as the kinetic force generated by the crash is transferred through the helmet into your head rather than being spread out by the helmet fracture. Maybe a more educated person could confirm this?
