During last month's Bike Festival in Willingen, Germany,
Nicolai showed off its long awaited and much rumored about update to the original
G-Boxx prototype shown at EuroBike/InterBike 2003. Dubbed the Nicolai Nucleon TFR Enduro, it is the next level in performance enduro/trailbike applications. Centered around the G-Boxx mounting system, you will find cues from our extremely successful Helius series, with a few updates and of course the G-Boxx system.
Utilizing a 14 speed internal gearbox you can now enjoy the tremendous benefit a closed system has to offer vs. a traditional derailleur based drivetrain. The geometry is setup for a typical modern day trail bike; adjustable travel 5-7 inches and compatible with forks from 5-7 inches, featuring a custom designed 12mm thru axle in the rear and of course the G-Boxx system. Due to the low and perfectly centered CG (center of gravity) the bike turns on a dime and has superb handling characteristics, while completely eliminating the Achilles heel of mountain biking, the derailleur.
Featuring a truly set-and-forget drivetrain you can now focus on your bike riding instead of fixing and dealing with constant derailleur issues. Especially noteworthy is the fact that we focused this new G-Boxx design around a trail / enduro bike and not a downhill specific version, which is a nice twist to the typical downhill specific designs that have been featured lately. As pictured the bikes has a nice all-round trailbike weight of 32 pounds. We believe this bike is truly the right way forward in G-Boxx design.
