Windrock Omnium September 7-8

Aug 12, 2013
by Jay Schultz
With SOOOO much “old school” freeride history at Windrock, the saga continues with something new for Eastern Tennessee, “King of the Rock - Windrock Omnium”. What’s planned? The weekend kicks with an Enduro on the mountain’s new XC trails that have been under construction for almost a year and then a grass flat Dual Slalom on Saturday, culminating with 2000 feet descent on some of the gnarliest terrain on the east coast for Sunday’s DH race.

Trails are dope, I cut my teeth on em after learning at the TTC, lots of rock, steep gnar chutes, looooooong runs!! I'd have to say its some of the best riding on the East Coast.

Has Southern Rocks been given some love recently?? Was my favorite run out there when they finished it but was almost unrideable two years ago when I made it down to the Rock.

Gnarly is an understatement. There's 3 junior WC racer's that train there a lot. You'll be stoked.

I'm doing all of them on my stumpy evo 29. Terrain doesn't get any gnarlier than windrock.
