New rim from T.H.E.

Toby Henderson believes that pinch flats can be a thing of the past with the introduction of the THE Eliminator rim.

The new rim's special feature is a raised PVC center section that protects from pinch flats, caused by the tire compressing into the edge of the sidewall, thus pinching the tube between the ground and the rim.

This design not only helps keep tires full of air, but they also allow to run a lighter weight tire and tube combo.

The Eliminator rim should also be about 30% stronger than comparable 26" rims.

Toby & Co. have been testing Eliminators for three years and now finally they are in production. Available in 26", 24", and 20" sizes, with 32 or 36 holes.

Retail pricing is around $99.99USD per rim and they can be found in better bike shops worldwide. THE also offers complete wheel sets starting at $649.00 USD.

They did work! I had a pair of the rims hand built on Hadley hubs on my Santa Cruz DH bike and loved them. They were heavy compared to most high end rims but they preformed as advertised. I never pinch flatted and you couldn't bend them if you tried. You could barrel fuilt tilt at a square edged curb with them and push the front wheel into it with all your might and they wouldn't pinch flat or bend. I'm not exaggerating at all. Wish I could find a set now, or my old Super 8 & Monster T they were on.
