As it's Sunday it seems like a good time to hit up YouTube for gems from the past again. A few of you mentioned this little beauty in the comments last week, and a quick hunt dug it up: Dirty Tricks and Cunning Stunts. This is another one of the MBUK videos from the late 90s, featuring Martyn Ashton and Martin Hawyes trying to escape the clutches of Hans Rey and his henchmen... It also goes into technique for trials moves - after watching this for the first time, me and my brother spent hours and hours on the road outside our house, trying to get the movements dialed. Like last week there is quite a lot of swearing in this and people riding bicycles without the correct protective equipment. If you're likely to find this upsetting, it's maybe best you give it a miss. Some of you will probably be disappointed to know that there is no female nudity this week. The soundtrack is a but muffled, but that's just an excuse to turn it up louder, right?
Class!! I still have this on VHS somewhere in the realms of my attic. Have any of you guys seen Martyn Ashton's new video -Road bike party... If not here's the link its awesome www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZmJtYaUTa0
oh how it takes me back hans(no way)rey the evil villan lol yet again a must have for ur dvd collection or vhs if still got 1 laughter from start to finish. stunt actors are jus so beleivable hahahaha
We need to see Dirt, the original MBUK video featuring JMC, Warner, Scott Dommett, Dave Hemming etal for next weekends Old School Throwback ! Then we can start on the Mudcows series!!
I have a blue anodized one that I used to run on my old crappy chepo bike that I had and couldn't fit a proper chain guide to. I got that off ebay. They seem to pop up on ebay quite often.
You couldn't buy a Union Jack one like Martin Ashton had so I did my own custom paint job - it looked awful but I thought it was the Ron Don. My bike was covered in MBUK stickers too. THE SHAME!
Oh $hit... here come the "no helmet" comments.. To be fair, the decade that they're portraying in that beginning sequence was reckless in many aspects as it was "pre-AIDS and pro-cocaine".
I'd rather watch this (again) than watch slow motion skidding and back flips which is pretty well all that current videos have to offer these days. Ooooh another backflip.......
