Kelly McGarry's custom Corsair built and stickered for Red Bull Rampage was stolen from the Interbike show in Las Vegas last night. Please notify the police immediately if you see this bike.
Thieves are dumb, that's super flashy, very easily noticed... hope you find it quickly. PS: There are no brakes, have you checked the side of the road near downhill paths?
"bike theft is probably the most serious crime in my eyes"... uhhhh. Bike theft doesn't mean squat in the big picture.
Hope you get your bike back... but regardless, corsair will be insured on it and get their money back... so who cares. Not like they can't replace the bike quickly.
rffr so corssair ar ment to get another custom bike same as this made and built upo by before octeber and then get it shipped over? somehow i think even if they get making it now i dont think so and benjiscott82 i think it looks more like my year yakuza
@the-freerider How long do you think it takes to build up a bike? He'll have a new one for sure... if it took weeks to build one bike they would never make a profit.
How did they even steal it? I've never been to interbike but I'm assuming the bike was kept in a convention centre for showing? I'd be wondering about how great the security is at this event, or whether some idiot in the security was actually involved.
I didn't know that, mine has modified geo anyway... Thanks for letting me know though i kinda stopped keeping tabs on ironhorse for...obivous reasons. That sucks about this bike, bike thieves suck
Bloody Retard goes: its not hard to steal a bike.. Just look natural.. Part of the staff, moving the bike. Gonna sell it on pinkbike. OH SHIT I CANT! they found out?? no shit! gotta get it painted. spray paint. Oh now it aint worth shit! damn i lost 8$ worth of cans!
Even if the frame can be replaced quickly it's not like the rest of the 2011 parts can just be replaced tomorrow, the fork is a custom tuned version that may not be possible to replace before Rampage. All that being said Kelly will probably have a new bike before Rampage. As for the insurance issue it's not about the money, and far more expensive one of a kind bikes were stolen last night as well, some with parts that can not or will not be replaced. The fork on Adam Craigs XC race bike was one of only 2 in the world as far as I know.
Honestly the-freerider, yes. You can get shit air freighted QUICK if you pay the money.... which a company would easily do for their pro rider. I'm sure they could punch a frame out in a week if they dedicate a few of their welders to it. Shipping is a sinch. Only thing that wouldnt probably be done in time is the stanctions on the forks. Big whoop.
None the less, it's a minior set back. Good thing it was a companies bike and not some normal riders tho. Working people would be way more effd.
And why wouldn;t the 2011 parts be ready in time? Companies should have no problem shipping stuff quickly... especially when these bikes get MASSIVE attention.
@rffr so if bike theft doesn't mean anything in the big picture, i'll steal your bike. it won't matter in the big picture, right? it sucks to get your bike stolen whether its cheap or expensive. it holds a sentimental value to the rider. you obviously don't seem to grasp this. i've had several bikes stolen over the years and each time it hurts about as much as being dumped. but you probably don't get this. cuz in the big picture your just a bike short. maybe that's your ride everywhere, maybe it's what you use to win a competition, maybe it's something you use on your favorite trail. the point is it is a crime and it sucks massively. anyways even with a bike like this, if the a*shole who stole it is a decent mechanic, he'll keep the parts that are custom, sell the parts that are pumped out of the factory and disguise the frame and probably ride it or sell it.
i'm slightly skeptical about the issue of it being custom. it's a nice luxury but not necessary to win comps. if your a good rider, you'll do the work, the machine will take you where you want it how you want it. pardon me for being an ass for a minute but it's not like he's missing a leg, what components are custom that are so difficult to replace? but above all i hope the thief gets caught and the bike returned.
and as for the insurance, for a pro rider, sure he can get it replaced. but for other people that get their bikes stolen, we usually don't get much money back from insurance companies because they're dicks like that.
AT had his bike stolen, totally custom Marin outta the Portland Pedal Nation Bike Show and within two months it appeared on the web under a for sale ad. Yep- he got it back. Hope that stokes out anyone that lost a bike. I hope Kelly will get that steed back. Thieves suck donkey balls.
I was too lazy to read all the posts so I'm sorry if I'm repeating what someone else has already said.
It really sucks that the bike got stolen, but come on... this guy stole a super custom boutique one of a kind bike from INTERBIKE!!! Not someone's garage. Anyone who pulls that off truly deserves it. Think about how hard that'd be!
Here come the negative props...
I'll have a post on the new Corsair Dominion up tonight. For all those of you that keep saying no big deal the companies can just replace it and airship stuff, Rampage is in4 days and most of those parts can't be air shipped because they aren't in production yet. It's not like Marzocchi has a warehouse full of 2011 custom tuned forks, or Corsair has racks of 2011 Dominions in size large. There might be another one but there might not. And welding up anew one is something that could take weeks or thousands of dollars. Companies don't have that kind of money. The green Hope brakes that were on that bike are almost irreplaceable right now. And what no one seems to care about is how Kelly feels right now. He is an awesome guy and he was so stoked about this bike, to have it stolen less than a week before Rampage is really no different than you having your bike stolen right after you built it but before you even get a chance to ride it, it sucks big time!
Dude A: Marzocchi has an exact same pair on display at interbike. Use those.
B: Who the eff cares about tuned forks. You can tune one in an afternoon, including valving.
I'm sure corsair has another bike somewhere. No company ever just makes a single frame. They normally have a similar prototype. Throw him on that. Who cares if the hope brakes are green. WIll that help him in rampage? NO. Throw some regular hopes on.
Once again, who the eff cares. It's not a personal bike, so no biggy. I'm sure he didn't spend a penny on it to begin with. It sucks, but it's time to move on and get over things.
So I'm guessing they added the "super custom green brakes that are impossible to get" to the bike after the pics? Cause it doesn't have brakes in the pic.
We built the bike as a surprise for Kelly. He had no idea about it until he got there and was stoked. It was a personal thank you for "getting rad". it was one of two large "Dominion" prototype frames and the other frame is in Taiwan so we can't get it to him for Rampage. we have it figured out for a back up plan but to put it in perspectiv...smiles were slamed a bit but nothing gets me down and if this was supposed to happen then we'll be better because of it.
Rffr who the eff cares about you? I mean really, it's no biggy, I created a post because someone had their bike stolen less than a week before the biggest contest of the year and there is no way to replace it. Of course he'll have a bike to ride, but it won't be the same. And for some reason you feel it's necessary to announce to the world that it's not a personal bike and it doesn't matter. Not sure where you got that idea from but keep your sad jealous comments to yourself, you quite obviously have no idea what the real world is like. Kelly isn't complaining about it and it's got nothing to do with money, there is nothing to get over except your negative comments. No biggy, deal with it.
Ok you either should start watching the bike scene a lot more if you actually dont know who kelly is. OR, if youre trying to say hes a girl because you think youre funny, he has a little more balls than you.
answer=false. i abviously made the mistake of not watching todays vod before commenting about someone i didnt know. I wasnt trying to be funny but all of the Kelly's i know are girls. And im sure he has bigger balls than the both of us cause i know i cant backflip shit that big and i doubt you can either. And who are you to comment on the size of my balls?
My comment on your balls was conditional to if you were a douche bag or not! haha But yes, Kelly owns both of us and probably everyone commenting this picture! anyways man!
So I haven't heard anything on Kelly's situation and it's a night or two before rampage. Whats he going to be riding now and did it all work out alright for the guy?
Rampage is already over for Kelly. He rode his old bike and rode it well but unfortunately crashed on both qualifying runs. I'm not going to say that a longer travel bike would have helped him any, but it definitely wouldn't have hurt either...
someone stole my DH bike right out of my house while my mom and i were home! they came right in the front door and took it out of my living room. i chased him a,d my neighbor saw it and jumped in his car, cought up to me, i got in his car, and we chased the f*cker. he ditched the bike and ran into someones backyard. i called the cops and gave them the house number, and they found him hiding in the bushes in the backyard. what a dumb*ss! bike is back home, and the guy is in jail. one bike theif off the steet!
It seems like this happens every year that bikes get stolen at interbike. Yes I know you cant stop a thief if they really want it but you bet your ass you can make it tougher! As a suggestion beef up the security and set up a camera on your products. Are the companies that unaware of where the bike is at while tending their booth. Or else they could have it locked where the Alarm goes off if lock is disconnected or have it micro chipped(less than 200 bucks) so its easily traced or a high pitched. Interbike seems like a high class event with minimal budget for stuff like this. I dont think this will be the last one that goes missing.
most likely someone didnt just go and take it, it was stolen on its way in or out of the booth, so that means they should have a qualified guard that is hired by the owner stay with the bike and watch it every second itts not in the booth
pretty easily if you think abotu it. there are tons of people there nobody know who is actually working there som some one could just say oh time to pu tit away and just walk out. it would take lots of guts to do though
Bummer detail Ian. Vegas is so fing seedy. An entire semi truck full of outerwear was stolen from Sound Outerwear 3 years ago at SIA. I know that pain.
Las Vegas is americas fucking toliet... no wonder this shit happened there, some dude probably took the bike and sold it to support his gambling addiction
also ianhylands...... i think ur right one of the janitors or security stole it
If the guy would sell it to me for a shitty price, like 1000-2000 bucks...I would CERTAINLY buy it without hesitation... Now really, I know that`s not correct...yeye bad karma, but when you crave at top DH bikes and don`t have the money for a decent DJ bike, then you WOULD do this without any remorse
even if you bought it for 1000-2000 its gonna be worth 2x that and if you had the details of the guy, im pretty sure the company would offer you a reward or maybe even the bike after the rampage
Yeah, I don`t think I would get that much from the company, and I think I WOULD announce the company if I knew some details about the idiot who stole it, but...
HiruMihnea, have you ever heard of supply/demand? because of idiots like you who would pay for a stolen bike (demand), thieves (supplier) steal our rides. that might be ok in romania, but please!!!!
Firstly don`t be an idiot yourself, cause I was talking about people that can`t afford buying bikes like this and want them really badly, and the weak ones steal...In real life there are 99% chances I would help in the return of the bike...so shut the f*ck up
Oh, and I`ve seen some of your comments on some romanian dudes` pages and photos...aren`t YOU a romanian ? If so...that would be just...I dunno, I think your just a poser
dude: work, get a bike and start riding. dont waste your time on forums or in fleamarkets waiting for a douchebag to sell you a stolen bike. and yes, i am romanian...and that's why i can afford to make such comments.
Dude, I`m 14...I tried webdesign and now I`m selling all my shit to get a bike...but it`s a really slow process and I hope I can make about 1800$ until spring or really early summer (I want a FR/DH for a year now...)
good luck. i hope that when you get your 1800$ bike, no one steals it and sells it for 100$ to someone who is willing to buy stolen shit...like it happened with my bike, in your beautiful romania
I wish some one could kick Will Stamey's ass. But we wouldnt want to bruise so bad that it couldnt take any Fat hairy C( ck up it for a while. Grow up you effin pussy Btch!!!!
I'm with bryantaber, if you want to joke about your own brand new bike being stolen go ahead, but joking about someone else's extreme misfortune is in no way cool or funny, just makes you look like an immature idiot really...
Definitely a bad situation. I personally hate bike thieves - but looking at this from a whole other angle, I've almost cried watching some awesome bikes get completely smashed at Rampage. Maybe the thieves purely saved this bike from being completely exploited and destroyed, and returned it to its natural habitat
How the hell do they steal a bike that 1000 of people are watching those Rats should be really silly taking it if they want to sell it..any how they're enough smart to take it out of there un noticed..hope you find it soon! dont give up a friend of mine found one like 2 years after stolen.sadly his bike was al scratched the brake lines cut and the fork jammed..anyway not only in 3rd world this things happen...so sad..
Hello everyone this is Pablo from Corsair and I would like to say hi and give some detail as to how and when it happened. The thefts or two of our prototype bikes happened overnight along with a Giant/fox and Specialized bikes. Kelly's Dominion rampage bike was stolen with his team-only green Hope brakes on it and the Toro 4x/DJ bike which is also green. I will ask Ian to load a pic of the Toro and Kelly's bike with brakes to show exactly what to look for. Thank you to everyone you wants these A!!holes caught and hung and they wont be hard to spot in the future. I felt bad for Kelly and Bryson Martin at Marzocchi for loosing out the most in this and I'm curiously waiting on the final outcome to who ever slimed there way in and out of Interbike.
I don't actually have any shots of it with brakes, and I didn't get a shot of the Toro. I do have the interview with you about the bikes as well as a short clip of Kelly with the bike that I'll try to get up in the next day.
woa... if the thieves were there in the first place... they knew what they were doing. but stupid enough, apparently, because this really is one off. this is not going to appear anywhere that soon. inside job? not really. dont think they are a bunch of crackheads. they can ride their own super expensive ponies or buy whatever else. why was the surveillance so relaxed? that is just stupid, pure and simple. it's not your average bike shop....wtf
It will be found or they guy will be caught. If this is a one off bike then someone will recognize it. He would have to have balls to sell it or go ride on the trails and hope that no body realizes it. The guy sounds pretty dumb to me..
ummm these grade of theives would ship it out of country. If it hits asia... no one will ever hear about it again.
Remember... these are not the dumb criminals you are thinking. Obviously these guys took the time to research it enough to get off the property successfully with it. These guys won't post it on ebay, cl, or sell it locally, they will strip and ship it. Done deal. Life goes on. Cameras wouldn't even do anything. Ya could have it shipped next am. Once it's gone its gone.
Reason why companies should hire their own security. For 10$ an hour they could have avoided this whole thing.
umm, except that it's a union hall so trying to hire your own security would be physically impossible, you'd have to hire the show security guys for more like $50/hour, and they're probably in on it....
No it's not. We have the same things up here in the bay area. I actually work quite a few of the events for our company. You can arrange anything you want if you take the time to do it.
O and the show security guys cost most places about 20 an hour tops. Especially considering the guys working security are normally paid 10 an hour.
It costs almost $100 for a guy to take a small cart of stuff from the loading door to your booth at Vegas, outside security and outside help is not allowed. I don't actually don't know exactly what security costs, but you need to order it through the show services order form and they are far from being $20/hour. The last time I worked for an exhibitor we considered it and it was over $200 per night and that was almost 10 years ago. I don't really care what you have in the bay area or what you do for work, if you haven't worked a show in Las Vegas you don't really have a clue what you're talking about.
Think of it this way, there are a lot of exhibitors at the show with huge budgets, and they don't hire security because 1. it's too expensive and 2. the show is supposed to have security. If you think that an average large company with 10 employees at the show is spending upwards of $1500-$2000 per day just for accommodation and food and then who knows how much for a booth, move in and move out, shipping etc. the total can come to $50,000 real quick. If private security was an extra $10/hour each night it would be a no brainer when there are $20,000 bikes on the floor... Yes "you can arrange anything you want if you take the time to do it" AND if you have the money. And in Vegas you need a boatload full of money to do anything...
There are a lot of things companies can do that the general public is not aware of.
And sure, it's vegas, and expensive, but if your willing to spend the 2k to have a few bikes on display, you should be able to afford the 500 or so for individual security for the week.
Companies don't ask for stuff they either A: are not aware of, B: don't think it's nessessary. Either way, I bet they will look into it now. They should take note from the beer industry, as we set a fairly good example of how to run and manage events.
that sucks! id be rlly mad if somethin like that happened to me, hope the owner of the bike has insurance on it so the insurance company can compinsate for the lost. but theres still 1 thing i dont understand, it's a beautiful bike thats a piece of art on wheels and its flashy plus with the event im sure there were alot of ppl around but i dont understand how thieves could come in steal the bike and walk out without bein seen or noticed.
the worst part about an expensive mountain bike or any bike for that matter getting stolen, is that the person who stole it, will probably sell it for like 20 bucks. Honestly I know I speak for pretty much everyone on this website when I say this but its so f*cked up to steal shit. Because honestly, I work my ass off for all the stuff I have. And to get it just ripped off like that? That person didnt have to work a single day to get that bike and now they have it. Its so messed up and this is extremely redundant but its just how I feel.
I had two 2009 Demo 8s stolen from me a few months ago. Never felt so sick in my life. Thieves are the scum of the earth! I hope this bike is found because it is B-E-A-UTIFUL!
The fork look pretty unique with the color so it wouldnt be that hard to find to be honest. They found that bike that was stolen last time (couple of months ago). Customrides are pretty hard to get rid off because they are custom with colors and so on. Bet they will find it in a month.
And its pretty easy to steal something, just check if there are no guards/salesmen and just go there directly withhout doubt and grab it like its your own bike. People wont react if its look natural. A smart thief doesnt act like a thief, they act like a normal person.
thieves are twats, thats the only word. you can tell when a thief has robbed ya house cos the bins empty and the dogs pregnant. really sorry about your bike mate. hope you find her
k the thief could easly sand it down and spray paint every aspect on the bike so that you cant tell its the bike that was stolen and maby the thief lives outside of las vegas so noone wil even know that there is a bike stolen
I've really got no idea of what happened but... how did this happen? did a guy just wheel the bike straight out of the front of the show? or did the transport guys pull a fast one on him? I'm very intrigued as to how that thing (which is the new jesus in my eye's) managed to just go missing?
"I've really got no idea of what happened but... how did this happen? did a guy just wheel the bike straight out of the front of the show? or did the transport guys pull a fast one on him? I'm very intrigued as to how that thing (which is the new jesus in my eye's) managed to just go missing?"
exactly what i was thinking and how would someone not notice someone just walking away with this
Sadly, sh!t like this happenes every year at Innerbike. What makes this worse is that next year Innerbike will be in Anaheim CA, and open to the public for a day.
As for this bike, sorry to hear about it walking out. That is one sick fork. Any chance that it will be released for the rest of us in the same paint scheme?
I TOOK IT!!! I TOOK IT!!! it looked so nice, i had never seen green stanchions before, i couldn't resist taking it becuase i ran out of all of my gambling money, i parted out the bike for 2,000 dollars, i feel so bad about it but now i have 20000 dollars from gambling sorry guys, SUCK MY BIG HAIRY NUTS!!!!
Dang it did not mean to give positive props to Amadeusg, in fact I completely disagree. I think the bike is freaking awesome and would kill to have one like it. Probably most people would. Whoever stole this bike is a big time idiot.
I remember last year Lance Armstrong's super custom time trial bike was stolen and EVERYONE knew what it looked like because it was on mainstream news. I think it was handed in to a police station - I guess the thief knew he couldn't move such a distinctive bike.
Let's hope the same thing happens in this case.
in 1996 when I was getting into mnt biking I had a Specialized Hardrock stolen from my work. It was locked up and everything. They just cut the fence and ran off with it. I wouldn't think that it would be a fun ride bc I had spd pedals on it they are not easy to pedal with out the right shoes. I never saw it again. Its all good now.
Maqtaak stole it, or at least he's pretending to sell it. Coincidence that he posted this right after the story went up? I think the police may be paying him a visit soon... www.pinkbike.com/buysell/718441
I dunno if you saw but I posted the link like a second after it came up on the buysell (I posted it at the top in a reply to the first comment in the article)
I was looking through page one, clicked to page two and the bike from the bottom of page one had went to the top of pg 2. I went back to page one to see what had been reposted and saw that ad. He obviously doesn't have the bike though... are the police actually going to talk to him? If so, Imma laugh, serves him right for being a douchebag.
aright 2 questions how do you steal this bike in the first place (when it's on display at interbike) and what do you do after you have got it like serously dude just return the freakin awsome ride you proven your good but really man....
wow.... you have to be straight up retarded to steal that bike..... what would someone do with it? hide it in their basement and jerk off to it daily? they can't sell it or show it to anyone....
@IanHyland , you said that it was stolen at night when interbike was closed? I don't understand how a bike like that was just left there overnight. You'd think someone would of thought to lock it up somewhere safer?
There are hundreds of bikes left at Interbike overnight, and there was supposed to be security. That's the main issue really, security at the event either failed or was implicitly involved in the thefts... Whoever took the bikes went for the flashiest bikes without any real knowledge of what they were taking, probably not someone that knew a lot about bikes. That leads me to believe it was probably someone that worked at or around the show and had access, but not someone that was in the bike industry. So security or cleaning staff should be prime suspects....
nope, I'd guess the thieves live somewhere in Vegas... If I knew anything about bikes and wanted to steal something from Interbike I'd take a stock high end 2011 bike. No one would notice that on craigslist, Pink Bike or Ebay in 6 months... So like I said it was a crime of opportunity by someone that had access at night and didn't know what they were taking. Someone that lives and works in Vegas...
Maybe you should have had someone KEEP AN EYE ON IT!! That would have been smart.Think about it.$hit get's stolen all the time at big show's like this all the time.Hope you find it and hope who ever stol the bike enjoy's the ride.
Wow that is a beautiful bike it is a real shame it was stolen and are those stations green or is it just me. (i am colour blind with red and green so help would be nice)
Its made up for the rampage, yet it has no brakes!...bit of a bummer to be stolen, but its not like its similar to anything else with those marzocchi's!
what happens in vegas stays in vegas. but seriously the do need security cameras. such an expensive show and poor security? i'm thinkin of investing in gps on a bike. i love my whips too much.
wow wat a faggot who does that but who didnt notice the guy walking out with the bike plus hes sponsored so he will get a new one if its not found but really who even stole it.... go fuck urself
dude my name is ben and i did take the bike and u guys can suck my balls i dont care wether i get in trouble i took the bike and u guys can suck my balls all night long
yes yes yes! completely true.. how!!!!??? if you sell that bike in other country no body can do anything i think they would sell the bike outside the unites states of NORTH america maybe un sourthern countrys
Sucks that it got stolen.
Back in the day you could get hanged for stealing a horse because you were taking away a man's lively hood. Maybe the same could be done to bike thieves.
That bike is ugly as hell, colours all over the place. And the forks actually looks terrible. But no one has the right to steal that bike, even if he's going to get it replaced a few hours later.
Haha! People really should take more care and look after expensive things like this, usually if you get something stolen from you it's mainly YOUR OWN FAULT for either not LOCKING it up or just being plain careless! PROPS TO THE PERSON WHO STOLE THIS! Idiots.
i gotta give the guy who stole this bike props cause that takes mad skill to steal a bike from interbike, but at the same time hes a low life that deserves to get his hand and balls chopped off for stealing a bike. and why is it only mcgarrys bike that is being put out there for everyone to see on pinkbike when there was a bunch of other bikes stolen to, its not like hes even that good
its aimed at me, milo i actually have to pay for my bikes so i protect them and make sure they dont get stolen, him on the other hand has probably had it replaced by now. naple, does it look like i go out and huck cliffs?
Actually I'm not sure there is another one of those frames in Kelly's size right now, there were only one of each size for the show, they're not in real production yet...
and how fast do you think they are gonna get him one, my point was that he didnt have to pay for that bike and hes not gonna have to pay for the next one.stealing bikes is for low life scums but its better that bike than some kids bike he has been working for years to build and wont be able to get a new one. maybe next time they will have some security
brett, it's not like I go out and huck the big lines either but someone who does earns respect from most riders. Just hope he gets a bike for the Rampage and kills it.
I see your point about looking after whats yours but it was out of Corsair and Kelly's hands at the show. The event organisers are responsible for the security day or night. Sounds like an inside job for sure.
Stolen from interbike. sounds like a inside job to me. With all the hundreds of thousands of dollars in product there you would think that security would be tighter. But if it was that lax wouldn't more stuff go missing? Just pointing that out. Plus it's a nice bike, just poor decal and color scheme. It's looks messy to me. You'll see these parts show up in like a year at the most random of bike parks thru out the world and you will never even notice that they are the stolen parts. Sad really, bunch O bad Ju-ju coming to this thief.
You my friend have obviously never worked at an event like this before. You don't understand.
It's the same thing as 8 foot mirrors getting stolen out of bars in broad daylight. The issue isn't security, the issue is people doing it infront of others. People are oblivious to things, so if someone tries to steal something in a way that just makes him look like a worker moving shit, no one would ever notice. Like said, use the bars for an example. We get neons and mirrors stolen all the time out of the bars we rep... and no one ever sees em doin' it.
i've never been to interbike, but i highly doubt that it runs 24 hours a day. night time is always the best time to steal stuff because, guess what, no one sees you in the dark.
I agree in part with OLsKOOL- It was pointed out ONLY security & "cleaners" were there during the heist. Draw your own conclusions.... Other than the frame the bike can be parted out and sold over time. If Marzocchi makes forks like that next year the fork can be sold of too probably.
man i hope you never find your shitty bike its your own fault it got stolen whinking like a girl isnt going to bring it back besided you can obviously get anotherone you rich piece of shit i hope your next bike gets stolen too
areyoujealous your negative ignorant comments are not wanted or appreciated by most people on Pink Bike or in the bike industry in general. Please do not waste your time making comments like this on my posts. You have a right to your opinion, but you don't need to write ignorant comments about stuff you obviously know nothing about just to get some kind of attention. Thanks!
Areyoujealous, You obviously have never met Kelly. Probably one of the nicest pros in the industry. When you say "rich piece of shit" I think you mean "guy who takes time to talk to everybody and doesn't act like an a*shole." Go go a major contest and see which pros will answer your questions, it won't be the "rich pieces of shit", it will be guys like Kelly. Case in point: I saw him apologize to the patrol at Highland MBP for eating shit on a huge backflip and needing gauze for his arm...because he made them run up the hill to him... Seems like a real a*shole to me...
Thieves are dumb, that's super flashy, very easily noticed... hope you find it quickly.
PS: There are no brakes, have you checked the side of the road near downhill paths?
Hope you get your bike back... but regardless, corsair will be insured on it and get their money back... so who cares. Not like they can't replace the bike quickly.

it sucks to get your bike stolen whether its cheap or expensive. it holds a sentimental value to the rider. you obviously don't seem to grasp this. i've had several bikes stolen over the years and each time it hurts about as much as being dumped. but you probably don't get this. cuz in the big picture your just a bike short. maybe that's your ride everywhere, maybe it's what you use to win a competition, maybe it's something you use on your favorite trail. the point is it is a crime and it sucks massively.
anyways even with a bike like this, if the a*shole who stole it is a decent mechanic, he'll keep the parts that are custom, sell the parts that are pumped out of the factory and disguise the frame and probably ride it or sell it.
i'm slightly skeptical about the issue of it being custom. it's a nice luxury but not necessary to win comps. if your a good rider, you'll do the work, the machine will take you where you want it how you want it. pardon me for being an ass for a minute but it's not like he's missing a leg, what components are custom that are so difficult to replace?
but above all i hope the thief gets caught and the bike returned.
Look at this idiot, thinks he's funny.
Now really, I know that`s not correct...yeye bad karma, but when you crave at top DH bikes and don`t have the money for a decent DJ bike, then you WOULD do this without any remorse
Was it that stolen black Big Hit ?
I`m sorry to hear that tho...You did a good thing moving to Canada, that`s for sure !
Pablo
haven't been around for a while
but good to see you're still a dumbass
Remember... these are not the dumb criminals you are thinking.
I don't really care what you have in the bay area or what you do for work, if you haven't worked a show in Las Vegas you don't really have a clue what you're talking about.

Sorry for you bro
They found that bike that was stolen last time (couple of months ago).
Customrides are pretty hard to get rid off because they are custom with colors and so on.
Bet they will find it in a month.
And its pretty easy to steal something, just check if there are no guards/salesmen and just go there directly withhout doubt and grab it like its your own bike. People wont react if its look natural. A smart thief doesnt act like a thief, they act like a normal person.
exactly what i was thinking and how would someone not notice someone just walking away with this
As for this bike, sorry to hear about it walking out. That is one sick fork. Any chance that it will be released for the rest of us in the same paint scheme?
I was looking through page one, clicked to page two and the bike from the bottom of page one had went to the top of pg 2. I went back to page one to see what had been reposted and saw that ad. He obviously doesn't have the bike though... are the police actually going to talk to him? If so, Imma laugh, serves him right for being a douchebag.
