Possible scammer?

https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/1298539/

calls them "tapered bike shocks"

registered on Mar 13th and posted the ad on the same day.

I.P checks out, pics aren't stolen either and it says local pick up. I'd assume not from that. However, thanks for the heads up.

Do we trust people who just recently registered an account here and NO followers ?
just thinking......

Well you can't just assume that they're a scammer because they're new. A lot of legitimate people join to buy and sell on here, on the other hand, yes, so do scammers. But if you're referring to the above reported user, there are slim chances of them scamming another user if it's local pick up only.

https://www.pinkbike.com/u/mikeekim89/ I was scammed by him, seemed legit, long time user, list of previous transactions etc. Contact was immediate before i had made payment. Lost contact for weeks at a time after payment when i was expecting to be receiving my fork. Eventually they did come. Packaging was wet with oil, both cartridges in fork were snapped. Claimed he didn't know!? I could literally pull them into two pieces without any real force. We agreed on a partial refund (better than nothing as i was stupid enough to trust him and agree to a bank transfer) Has now blocked me...

Invoices are safe, but then, so is payment of goods via typing in their email.

A tip for when you send via goods is to make a note on the payment:

"User1234 on Pinkbike for the payment of Fox 36 fork"

Then if you have to raise a dispute, you have the note there to back you up.

Yup, Paypal will most likely back you up anyway, but it makes things easier.
